Join Imani’s Village on a transformative journey to become a culturally sensitive and empowered community-based doula. At Imani’s Village, we are dedicated to empowering you to become a compassionate, knowledgeable, and culturally sensitive doula. Your training will not only provide you with the necessary skills but also instill in you the values of empathy, advocacy, and community support.

Our Innovative Program Includes:

  • Combination of Online and In-Person Training

  • List of Certification Action Tasks

  • Participants will choose one of the following 3 day in-person sessions to attend in 2025. Dates will be announced soon!

  • Recognition by Medicaid

What to Expect in our Doula Training & Certification Program:

  • Gain certification as a Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula

  • Learn how to provide culturally sensitive care to diverse communities

  • Empower families to advocate for themselves during the birthing process

  • Understand your role as a vital part of the birth team, ensuring a holistic and supportive experience

  • Focus on self-care and well-being to sustain yourself in this fulfilling role

  • Transition seamlessly from training to building your own doula business

  • Learn how to support families birthing in different settings, including hospitals, birth centers, and homes

This is an incredible opportunity to join a growing field as Medicaid and more insurance companies now recognize the importance of labor support and are reimbursing doulas for their services. Be at the forefront of change and make a meaningful impact in communities disproportionately affected by birth disparities.

Recognition by Medicaid:

Imani’s Village Certified Doula Training is now on the list of approved trainings through Medicaid!

Doulas who are trained and certified through our program can now apply with the state to be Medicaid providers and serve families who are on Soonercare. We are SO excited about this recognition for our training, the opportunity it opens for our trainees and the impact it will have on the community. We can’t wait to see the doulas in our community grow and make a big impact serving families!
